Watch the trailer for Resident Evil
The first official full trailer was revealed during Netflix’s Geeked Week. It shows various monsters from the first game, including what fans believe to be the Tyrant. There are also giant spiders, zombie dogs, and many other wacky enemies. Check it out below:
The first official trailer begins in present-day New Raccoon City, before fast-forwarding to London in 2036, where things seem much more apocalyptic.
The second trailer shows the Umbrella Corp working on the miracle drug ‘Joy’, which appears to be infused with the infamous T-Virus.
There was also another trailer that gave us a look at the iconic monster from Resident Evil, the hound Cerberus. He looks like an average dog at first, until he turns his head and reveals a rotten skull.
This sneak peek was actually a leak: the official show’s Instagram briefly posted an image, but then deleted it. However, nothing completely disappears from the Internet. Take a look below:
There are also the official posters, one showing a blood sample testing positive for the T virus.
What is the plot of the new Resident Evil TV show?
The new show follows the adventures of the two Wesker children, set in two time periods. In an official announcement, Netflix confirmed the following story arcs:
“In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker move to New Raccoon City. A manufactured corporate town, forced on them just as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they realize that the town is more than meets the eye and that their father may be hiding dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.
“Cut to the second timeline, more than a decade in the future: there are fewer than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters: people and animals infected with the T virus. Jade, now thirty years old, struggles to survive in this New World, while the secrets of her past, about her sister, her father and her herself, they continue to persecute her.”
His father is Albert Wesker, the eternal villain of the Resident Evil series who has been an integral part of the world since the first game. We don’t know what happens to Billie along the way, but we’re pretty sure her teeth and mutation will be involved.
The official full trailer shows these two timelines, teasing how the Umbrella Corporation’s experiments caused the release of the deadly T-Virus. The show will also have a lot of wacky monsters, just like the games.
