V-Bucks allow Fortnite players to unlock their favorite cosmetics and items. This is how you can get some free V-Bucks in Fortnite.
Skins and outfits in Fortnite are purely cosmetic in nature, meaning that they do not give players a competitive advantage. However, they are the only way one can show their experience and style of play.
The Fortnite community loves buying V-Bucks and spending them on cosmetics and the Battle Pass. There are a handful of credible ways that award this in-game currency for free, and this guide will cover them all.
How to get free V-Bucks from the Fortnite Battle Pass
Fortnite Battle Pass now has a unique Battle Star system. Instead of 100 tiers, the pass has 10 pages with 10 rewards each. Players earn Battle Stars by leveling up and can spend them on the cosmetics they love the most.
Fortunately, each Battle Pass page gives out three free rewards that also include 300 V-Bucks. In order to unlock a Battle Pass page, F2P players must reach a certain level of XP:
- Lv. 10 to unlock Page 1
- Lv. 20 to unlock page 2, and so on until Lv. 100 to unlock Page 10
This means that you can collect 300 V-Bucks for free every season and after 3-4 seasons, you will have enough money to buy the paid Battle Pass which costs 950 V-Bucks. The paid version gives out 1500 V-Bucks upon reaching Lv. 100.
Fortnite Competitive Tournaments Free V-Bucks Rewards
Official Fortnite tournaments hosted by Epic Games no longer offer V-Bucks as rewards to pros. However, tournaments organized by third party organizers can surely provide virtual currency to the winners.
Usually, content creators and companies organize these tournaments. It is recommended to always double check the authenticity of a tournament that promises you free V-Bucks. Under no circumstances should you provide your Epic Games account login details to anyone else.
Free V-Bucks from Twitch Drops and Redemption Codes
Redemption codes are rare but legit. On certain occasions, such as a LAN event or a collaboration, Epic Games release codes that one can redeem at the official website and get cosmetics and V-Bucks in return.
There are no Fortnite redemption codes available in July 2022. We’ll be sure to update this article if they are announced by the developers soon.
During FNCS and other competitive tournaments that draw a lot of viewers, Epic Games often partners with Twitch and players get free rewards for watching live streams. Although indirectly, these cosmetics can be perceived as free V-Bucks.
Fortnite Save the World Free V-Bucks
Although Fortnite Save the World is not free to play, it is one of the best ways to farm V-Bucks which can also be used in Battle Royale mode. The STW community is divided into two factions: Founders and Non-Founders.
As the names suggest, founders are players who purchased Save the World shortly after it was released (before June 29, 2020) and anyone who purchased it after this date is a non-founder. Founders earn V-Bucks for logging in daily and can accumulate over 10,000 V-Bucks in less than a year.
Completing Storm Shield defense quests and quests in Save the World awards V-Bucks and even non-founders can make the most of it. To be fair, Save the World’s V-Bucks rewards significantly outweigh the price you’ll have to pay for the multiplayer PvE game.
As always, please refrain from visiting suspicious websites and handing over your login details to get free V-Bucks.
Having said that, free rewards like sprays, skins, and other cosmetics are constantly being released in Fortnite. For example, Refer a Friend challenges have returned in Chapter 3 Season 3 and a free Xander skin is up for grabs.
