FortniteThe most famous recurring antagonist, doctor alone, he was first introduced at the end of Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5, and in the following season, playing the classic role of a mysterious person trying to silence someone with too much knowledge for their own good.
Now the character of Slone is equally loved and hated as his story unfolds through the game’s ongoing mysteries. His past was told through Epic Games’ trademark style of flashing narratives into every corner of the game; in Slone’s case, his loading screen and other cosmetic items.
Here are five facts about Fortnite’s Doctor Slone, one of the best members of the Imagined Order.
1. She was raised by the IO
Not because of wolves like the successful science fiction series, but because of the sad story of a genius boy corrupted by bad ideals. Not much was shown regarding Slone’s actual childhood, but the footage in his office from Chapter 2-Season 7 showed her at not even a fraction of the height requirement of a roller coaster.
She wrote formulas to understand the ins and outs of reality while being watched by dozens of people. She already sporting her puffy hair and her ambitious mind, but she unable to live her life to the fullest.
Another image shows an unnamed character congratulating a slightly older Slone, likely accepting the role she now holds. She is likely equal to this employee in terms of ranking.
For someone as young as her to prove her worth within the organization that catalogs each universe, the Imagined Order, is rare.
2. She knows Kung Fu
Slone’s loading screen mentioned earlier, Slone’s Mission, shows her training in white robes supported by an impressive black belt. Breaking what appears to be a plank of wood, his experience in multiple fields shows what it takes to lead a multiversal organization.
Interestingly, even with a past of expert fighting, when confronted by Dwayne Johnson’s character, The Foundation, she attempts to shoot him in the face, something he easily blocks.
He can probably use his moves on people outside of the wrestling business.
3. She had earrings
Fortnite has an incredibly fluid development process, with things being changed and refined until the very last minute. An earlier victim of this practice was Midas, the gold-touch billionaire who had glasses until Chapter 2, the release of Season 2. The old design of him could still be seen on a statue, with many questioning the change later.
Slone’s first appearance was as an unequivocal voice in the trailer for Chapter 2 — Season 5, however our first look at his design was a silhouette in the following season’s missions. He sported most of his look, complete with a large pair of trendy earrings.
They are also clearly visible on the loading screen released with his Battle Pass debut.
Perhaps they were written off due to ongoing physical issues or some other reason, but they will always be remembered fondly by the community.
4. Alone all the time
Since its first season, Fortnite: Battle Royale has had a lot of speculation regarding a story. The bunkers were spread across all corners of the island, suggesting that someone could be monitoring the entire ordeal.
One of them was Slone, revealed in a battle against an alien invasion. It was quickly revealed that his role in the IO’s chain of command was quite prestigious. The symbols seen on his battle suit and the guards on it imply that he leads a specific branch of the organization, in charge of the island itself.
However, with Geno, the true leader of IO, revealed in the Collision event, Slone’s ultimate status as a villain is now set aside. There are bigger cards in play.
5. She could turn
As the war of Chapter 3 — Season 2 raged on, the IO and the Seven finally fought under a giant world-ending weapon, only describable as a poor man’s Eiffel Tower. The Collision live event showed Slone leading the IO troops into battle, but a former IO agent had been convincing his heart to change throughout the season.
Jonesy, by accessing the comm systems and talking to Slone like a normal human being, tried to get her to the good side of the fight. Unfortunately, she didn’t listen in time to avoid a giant crush.
The odds that she’s alive are very likely, and Slone may even have a change of heart upon realizing how disposable she is to those who indoctrinate her her whole life.
Fortnite is free to play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Android.
