After much speculation, Capcom has confirmed that the RE4 Remake is in development. We couldn’t be more excited as RE4 is well-known amongst the gaming community. Your nightmarish experience is second to none.
Since its release on the GameCube in 2005, Resident Evil 4 has been ported to thirteen consoles. It even turned into a VR game for Meta Quest 2, which was a terrifying experience to behold. But Capcom isn’t done scaring us yet, as they’re remaking Resident Evil 4 from scratch.
This is similar to the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. We’ve played these games recently and we know the terrible power Capcom has to create shocks within the revamped RE Universe.
We expect Capcom to amp up the tension factor in Resident Evil 4. It would make the experience more intimidating and unnerving for anyone who hasn’t played it before; even those who have played RE4 would feel scared by the new version.
Will Resident Evil 4 Remake come out in 2022?

Capcom confirmed during the June 2022 PlayStation State of Play event that RE4 Remake would be released on March 24, 2023. Fortunately, this is less than a year away from our current calendars.
We won’t have to wait long before replaying Leon’s story in the Village. Capcom has promised that, story-wise, nothing will change between the original and the new version. However, improvements are being made to modernize this game for the next generation.
Anyone who has experienced Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake knows that fidelity improvements will be made in RE4. However, those improvements will target next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
This will mark the first instance of Capcom remaking an old game for next-gen consoles, which should mean an immediate improvement in visual fidelity. Therefore, we can expect better graphics than ever. Even better than Resident Evil Village.
Game Setting, Story, and Everything We Know About Resident Evil 4 Remake So Far | All the leaks and rumors

Spoilers for anyone who hasn’t played Resident Evil 4.
The United States Government has requested the help of Leon S. Kennedy to rescue the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham. She has been kidnapped by an unknown cult residing in a rural town in Spain. Arriving at this location, Leon S. Kennedy learns that the villagers have turned into hostile variations of zombie-like creatures called Ganado.
While Leon S. Kennedy searches for Ashley Graham, he learns that this cult is called Los Illuminados and that the Ganados have become involved with this disturbing cult. It is discovered that this is not the same virus found in Racoon City. Instead, these villagers have been infected by a mind-controlling parasite called Las Plagas.
Leon must fend off the Ganado and many other enemies to save the president’s daughter. But can this Racoon City police officer get the job done? Only time will tell as he will have to explore numerous locations to complete the quest. Those locations include:
- The spanish town
- Battleship The Illuminated
- University of Massachusetts
- Salazar Castle
- Island of research facilities
These locations are guaranteed to be upgraded significantly throughout Resident Evil 4 Remake, and we can’t wait to explore them. There should be noticeable differences between the level design and the implemented gameplay, as Capcom will want to update RE4 Remake for modern audiences.
Will the remake of Resident Evil 4 come to Xbox Series X/S and PC?

Capcom has confirmed that its Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC on March 24, 2022. We expect Capcom to release a RE4 Remake: Collectors Edition for next-gen consoles and PCs. You could offer things like:
- town map
- RE4 digital soundtrack
- RE4 collector’s art book
- Figure of Leon S. Kennedy
- Trader’s Collector’s Item Box
- Resident Evil 4 Remake Standard Edition
There is no confirmation that Capcom is releasing an RE4 Remake: Collector’s Edition. This is pure speculation.
Is Resident Evil 4 Remake part of Game Pass on Xbox?

Unfortunately, Capcom and Microsoft have not agreed to release any of their Resident Evil Remakes on Xbox Series X/S.
Resident Evil 4: The Remake will be no different, as Capcom and its financial investors will want to keep the profits for their next third-person horror game. If you’re looking for something horror-themed on Xbox Game Pass, we recommend checking out the following titles:
- Prey
- Back 4 Blood
- alien isolation
- the evil inside
- dead space 1 and 2
It is noted that Capcom is not expected to release Resident Evil 4 Remake on PlayStation PS+ Extra or PS+ Premium. We’ll have to buy this title either way. Fortunately, Capcom regularly puts its games up for sale.
game trailer
Capcom showed some previews of Resident Evil 4 Remake for Xbox, PlayStation and PC. What we’ve seen shows an incredible improvement in visual fidelity and storytelling. It seems that we will have an additional character with Ada Wong, which means that there will be two stories in RE4 Remake.
How will Capcom present Ada Wong with her story? That is what we are interested in seeing. You can see the new version’s improvements for yourself by watching the full presentation below.
