Resident Evil Villageeither Resident Evil 8 as many fans still call it, released over a year ago, but that doesn’t mean Capcom is done with it.
Shortly after announcing that the game will be playable in VR, Capcom announced a series of downloadable content and a Gold Edition that includes it all along with the base game.
Not the biggest addition, but probably the most notable is that Lady Dimitrescu will be playable in an update to The Mercenaries mode. The tall vampire lady is arguably bigger than the game itself, with lots of fan art and cosplay. It was also announced that Chris Redfield and Karl Heisenberg will be playable in The Mercenaries update, with much less fanfare.

The DLC also includes a new story scenario that follows Villageit’s called the end shades of pink. Follows Rose, the daughter of protagonist Ethan Winters, as a teenager as she delves into the secrets of the mold that has given heroes and villains some crazy superpowers.
Curiously, shades of pink will be playable in third person instead of first person like 7 Y Village. But even more interesting, the Village The base game will also be playable entirely in third person, leaving 7 as the only game in the main series that is first person (unless they update it too).
All downloadable content and the combined Gold Edition will be released on October 28. PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X variations of the Gold Edition are available to pre-order from Game now for £49.99.

Between all this content and the next remake of Resident Evil 4fans are in for a treat right now.
