Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Reality Tree Explained

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Reality Tree Explained

Major changes have been made to Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 after the story-heavy Crash event that brought Season 2 to a close. Along with massive map alterations, Epic Games’ popular Battle Royale now features the floating Reality Tree and Reality Seeds that can be found throughout your surroundings.

In Reality Falls, a new biome on the west side of the updated map that replaced Camp Cuddle, players come across a huge purple and blue tree. This is the tallest tree in the game, located in a spot where players can run along trunk tunnels and loot chests at the top. The Reality Tree exists as a consequence of the Collision event, during which players fought the Imagined Order (IO) along with The Seven in a war for reality, leading to Reality Seed Pods being scattered throughout the island.

The meaning of the reality tree

The Reality Tree resembles Zero Point Bloom from the previous Fortnite Chapters thanks to its waterfall, giant and colorful mushrooms. Many believe that this visual similarity is not a coincidence, especially since the Zero Point acted as a nexus orb where reality was born and used to link other realities.

At this point, not much is known about the meaning of the Reality Tree, except that each day it seems to bloom more. The name and connection to Zero Point suggest that this tree may very well culminate in a major plot point at the end of the season along with Star Wars villain Darth Vader, who is rumored to be arriving on the island soon.

How To Profit From Fortnite Reality Seeds

The reality seed capsules around the tree can be opened with pickaxes or any of the weapons in your inventory. For those who don’t know what to look for, they resemble large purple tomatoes with blue stems. Upon breaking, a few young seeds, usually two or three, will float before falling to the ground. Grabbing them will equip it as an item that can be moved from inventory to the plant, which can be done by dropping the seed on the ground. Only two seeds can be stacked in one’s inventory at a time.

Throughout the season, a Reality Sapling will grow that can be looted in different games. The more times a sapling is plucked, the better the loot. Legendary and mythical weaponry can be farmed from the sapling. For those who plant the seeds to accomplish a quest in the game, they will only need to plant three to reach their goal. Smaller blue mushrooms grow around each sapling, granting 10 shields each after consumption. Players can take these mushrooms from around other people’s Reality Saplings.

The addition of Reality Saplings means more loot chances, but it also improves a player’s drop location if they know their Sapling will be in a specific location. Saplings actively grow during a match and can sometimes be harvested more than once after the wedding countdown. This timer is displayed next to the color’s rarity on a stats screen.

Many players realized that their Reality Sapling can be looted by other players, so they placed them farther away from Reality Falls to try and keep high-tier loot away from others. A player can get rid of weeds, it will produce a healthy plant that can drop rarer items. After planting a seed, the location is automatically marked on the player’s map, so they will be able to find it again. With the recent introduction of the Reality Tree and its seeds, players can expect to see more updates from Epic Games as the season progresses.
