In this new story set in the world of the first two games, players will become an ancient Shadow Carja warrior named Ryas who seeks to redeem himself “by investigating a grave new threat to the Sundom. He excels at climbing and archery.” (which are great for VR) and you’ll have to do things like climb “dangerous mountains” and “shoot down powerful machines like Thunderjaw”.

While players won’t see this world through Aloy’s eyes, they will meet them and other familiar and new faces along the way.

This will also potentially be a huge showpiece for PSVR2 as, along with the story mode, there will be a River Ride mode that takes players down a…well…river to enjoy the beautiful scenery. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be some “uninvited machines” trying to get on board.
