CoD: Warzone Update Makes Major Changes To Battle Royale As Snoop Dogg Arrives

A new update to Call of Duty: Warzone arrived on April 19, bringing Snoop Dogg into the game as a playable operator, but the patch notes also include some bug fixes and changes to Warzone’s public and guaranteed events.

According to Raven Software’s patch notes, updates have been made to further mold Warzone’s current battle royale experience to be more of a mix between standard battle royale and the Vanguard Royale mode from Season 1. This update adds some of the public Vanguard Royale events to standard mode, including Resupply, Cash Drops, Heavy Weapon Drops, and Resurge events.

In addition to these new public events, the guaranteed Vanguard Royale events have also been added. The guaranteed infiltration events will include Heavy Weapon Crates and Loot Crates, while the fourth circle guaranteed events will be Resupply and Fire Sale. Raven Software says that the added events will help players replenish their inventory and provide better looting opportunities in the mid or late game of each match.

Loadout Drops has also changed a bit. The patch notes reveal that the first free cast now occurs earlier, while the second free cast still heals the fifth circle of the mode. On the smaller side of the update, several bug fixes were made to patch vulnerabilities that allowed players to shoot or look through them, as well as a vulnerability that allowed players to walk through the doors of the Golden Bunker in Rebirth Island. .

The full patch notes can be found below, as shared by Raven Software.

Call of Duty season 3 is just around the corner, and Activision is teasing a lot that the next season of Warzone will be themed around monsters of epic proportions, including teases suggesting the Caldera will be overrun by Godzilla.

Battle Royale Settings

At the beginning of Season Two Reloaded, we talked about our intention to merge the main and Vanguard Royale experiences into a single, cohesive mode. We have now reached the final step of the merger, with Vanguard Royale Public Events joining the core BR events pool.

  • public events
    • Aggregate:
      • Restock
      • cash drops
      • Heavy Weapon Drops
      • Resurgence
  • Load Drop Events:
    • Loadout’s first free launch now occurs earlier
      • This change should contribute to better parity in the power curve.
    • The second free equipment drop remains in the fifth circle.
  • Guaranteed events:
    • Stuffed:
      • Heavy Weapons Crate
      • loot box
Being incentivized to land in different locations due to legendary loot that appears early in the game is a good opportunity for POI rotation.
    • 4th Circle:
      • Restock
      • Clearance sale
Having mid-game events helps players replenish their inventory and gives players better mid- to late-game looting opportunities, especially if they return from the Gulag.

As a reminder, here are some of the other changes that have been implemented in the BR core over the past few weeks:

  • how to play
    • Default core health is now 150 (was 100)
  • Swag
    • Dead Silence will remain as legendary loot
  • Contracts
    • “Big Game Bounty”
    • “Top secret”
    • “Supply Drop”

We are excited to see this initiative come to fruition and look forward to monitoring your continued feedback. It’s time to enter!
