Minecraft: Java Edition Snapshot 22w18a focuses on technical changes and bug fixes

2022 continues to move inexorably forward, and the release of The Wild Update continues to draw ever closer. Mojang Studios is working tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver a full, feature-packed update later this year, and is engaging the Minecraft community every step of the way.

Minecraft: Java Edition Snapshot 22w18a will be released alongside a new Minecraft: Bedrock Edition beta with many changes and fixes for The Wild Update, the major content update to be released to Minecraft players sometime in 2022.

This release does not include additional new features and instead focuses on technical updates like commands and a handful of major bug fixes. While not a particularly exciting snapshot, Minecraft can’t hold its place at the top of the PC gaming stack without constantly improving every aspect of itself, and Mojang Studios is clearly aware of this.
