Top 5 Rarest Loot Items in Minecraft in 2022

Loot in Minecraft comes in many forms and is obtained from various sources, including loot chests and drops from dead mobs. But no matter where players find their loot, some items are considerably rarer than others.

As of Minecraft version 1.19, many of the rarer loot items are still as hard to find as ever. If players want to find these items in Survival mode, they will have their work cut out for them. Fortunately, these items can still be obtained with enough determination, but it can take quite a bit of time and effort to find them. In the list below, Minecraft players can find some of the rarest loot items from The Wild Update.

Super rare items found as loot in Minecraft and how to get them

Minecraft players may not think of banner patterns when they think of loot due to banner patterns being used heavily through the loom block. However, there is a pattern to being looted on remnant bastion structures, and it resembles a piglin’s snout. This is known as the muzzle banner pattern, and the pattern only has a 10% chance of being looted in Java or Bedrock Edition, making it one of the hardest finds in the game. This is especially true due to the hostile piglins that inhabit the remnants of strongholds within the Nether.

4) Other music disc

Music discs are a great way to enjoy music in Minecraft that isn’t normally played during normal gameplay. At the Caves & Cliffs update, Mojang presented an album of music by Lena Raine titled Otherside. This intriguing disc of music can be found in dungeons, fortresses, and structures in ancient cities. No matter where players look for it, they will have a less than 10% chance of finding the disc in a loot chest.

Specifically, Otherside has a 3.1% chance to be found in dungeons, an 8.4% chance in ancient cities, and a 2.5% chance in strongholds in Java Edition. Bedrock Edition players will have an even harder time finding the disk, as it does not appear in dungeons in this version, and the chance of looting it in strongholds is reduced to 2.4%.

3) Pigstep Music Disc

Another music disc recorded by Lena Raine, Pigstep is well known as one of the rarest items in the game. It can only be found inside bastion remnants inside the Nether, and only has a 5.6% chance of being found in a loot chest in both Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition.

Sure, you could argue that Otherside is a rarer disk than Pigstep, but Otherside can be looted with a 8.4% chance inside old cities, which makes it a bit easier to find. Pigstep only exists in one location and has a considerably low drop chance.

2) mob bosses

Although the mob heads in Minecraft have different drop chances, they are all considerably difficult to obtain in the game. Withered Skeleton Heads are arguably the most difficult, as they only have a 2.5% chance to drop when a Withered Skeleton is killed by a player or tame wolf. This means that players generally have to create a Wither Skeleton Farm to receive a significant amount of Wither Skeleton Heads.

Other mob bosses require a slightly different approach. Zombie heads, skeletons, and creepers are only dropped when the corresponding mob is killed by a creeper-charged explosion. Considering that charged vines are already a rare occurrence, mob heads are hard to obtain in general.

1) Enchanted Golden Apples

Considered the best food item in Minecraft, Enchanted Golden Apples are incredibly hard to find in the game despite having multiple loot locations.

These fantastic snacks can be found in dungeons, mine shafts, ancient cities, bastion remains, desert pyramids, ruined nether portals, and forest mansions. However, neither of these structures offer a great chance of looting magic apples. Ancient cities offer a 8.4% chance, and bastion remains have a 6.5% chance, but all other structures offer less than 4%.

If players find an enchanted golden apple, they should definitely keep it until an emergency, as it can be quite a while before another one is found.
