With the release of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 underway, fans have started criticizing its Battle Pass – this is all we know.
Each season, Fortnite introduces an entirely new Battle Pass for players to progress through. With new cosmetics, skins, emotes, and more to unlock, these Battle Passes are often the highlight of the season.
Unfortunately, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 has seemingly failed to inspire players old and new with its Battle Pass. While people have enjoyed certain aspects of this chrome-covered season, they think the Battle Pass is really letting them down.
This isn’t the first time fans have been disappointed, as many wondered why Impostors mode was removed from Fortnite.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass explained
There are a number of new skins available with the Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass. Here are all of the available ones:
- the paradigm
- meow skull
- Rose Lennox
- The Herald
Spider-Gwen, whose design will look familiar to anyone who has seen the movie Into The Spiderverse, is a level 100 unlock.
The Paradigm, on the other hand, will be available as an immediate unlock to anyone who purchases the Battle Pass, albeit an unskinned version. Players could actually buy The Paradigm years ago, but now it’s back with a redesigned look and voiced by Brie Larson.
The villain responsible for the entire massive Fortnite map, The Herald, can be unlocked by following these steps later in the season.
Meow Skulls is perhaps the other most notable skin as it is a redesign of the iconic Meowscles skin that was popularized a while ago. This time, however, the Meow Skulls have dropped the six-pack in favor of all-black clothing, ripped jeans, and a somber expression.

Fan reaction to Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass
Despite the variety of skins, there seem to be a handful of main reasons that have led fans to hate the new Battle Pass:
- The lack of personalized cosmetics.
- Little or no theming
- Lack of Halloween masks
- It includes some of the lowest rated skins in the survey.
While of course the Battle Pass has its fans, for the most part it seems that people dislike one or more of the skins and refer to it as one of the worst Battle Passes in Fortnite.
Lack of personalized cosmetics
One of the issues that many have criticized this Battle Pass for is the dearth of custom cosmetics available. Customizable skins can be modified with new styles that are unlocked by completing various challenges.
Just last season, players received a customizable skin in the form of a Snap. Players can change their head, arms, legs, and torso to create their own unique version, making for a much more interesting and dynamic skin.
However, outside of the Byte pickaxe in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass, there are few to no customizable cosmetics.
Mediocre theming and no Halloween skins
The theme in Fortnite Battle Passes has always been mixed. However, many feel that the Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass doesn’t do a good job of making its skins feel relevant to the ongoing story.
Fans also mentioned the lack of Halloween skins as one of the biggest problems with this Battle Pass. With the Fortnitemares event just around the corner, many were hoping for more Halloween-themed cosmetics.
Lowest Rated Skins in Fortnite Poll
Fans can vote on Fortnite skins through polls from time to time. Skins from those polls then appear in-game, though they aren’t always the highest rated.
Some fans have speculated that some of the lowest rated skins in the survey were included in this Battle Pass. It’s possible that some of the skins that fans have speculated were higher rated may show up in the Item Shop at a later date. However, many are still wondering why their favorites didn’t make the cut.
Of course, there’s a lot more to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 4, including the new slide kick mechanic.
