Fishing is a very underrated activity in Minecraft that can bring great rewards and some valuable treasures. To do the same, players need to craft a normal fishing rod using a crafting recipe.

However, to get the most out of a fishing rod, players need to attach enchantments to ensure better loot than endless fishing in the world’s aquatic biomes. There is an extensive process for players to create one in Minecraft.

There are five main enchantments that one can use with a fishing rod to get some good loot and grab more treasures. This is how players can make one in Minecraft.

To make an enchanted fishing rod, you first need to know how to make a fishing rod in Minecraft. Some believe that making a fishing rod is much easier than looking for it. Various resources can be used during the quest that can be saved if one knows how to craft them.

To make a fishing rod, all players must have two strings and three sticks. Once they have this equipment, they need to open their crafting menu and get ready to follow the recipe.

Now all they have to do is place the sticks diagonally across the artboard. Then, under the top right stick, place the two strings vertically. This will create a fishing rod as needed to enchant it next.

To use a fishing rod, players must right click towards the body of water to cast the line and wait for the water to move until they have caught something. Then right-click again to reroll it and see what they’ve caught using it.

Fishing rods can be easily enchanted if players have an enchanting table, an anvil, or know how to use in-game commands to perform the action. Once you have it set up, the items needed to enchant the fishing rod are pretty basic in Minecraft.

All they need is three lapis lazuli and a fishing rod. Players can easily mine it between Y -11 and -27 below ground level. If they can’t, it can be easily smelled using an oven.

Once a player has all of that in their inventory, the next step is to enchant them using an enchantment table. In the Enchant menu, he places the fishing rod on the first box and then places three lapis lazuli on the second box.

As mentioned above, here are the next five enchantments that can be applied to a fishing rod:

  • Curse of Vanishing – The cursed item will disappear after the player dies
  • Luck of the Sea – Increases the chances of catching goodies
  • Lure: Increases the rate of fish taking the bait
  • Repair: Use XP to repair your tools, weapons, and armor.
  • Unbreakable: Increases the item’s durability, in effect by decreasing the chance that the tool, weapon, or armor will take durability damage when used.

Once a player has placed their fishing rod and lapis lazuli in the two boxes, they will see that the enchantment slots display up to three enchantment options. Each of them will display a number on the right, which is the level of XP they need to unlock and see the enchantment.

The higher the experience points required to unlock it, the better it is. If you don’t have enough levels, you can always gain more experience points by killing mobs or using the /xp command.

The top enchantment says Luck of the Sea II and costs three lapis lazuli and three enchantment levels. It is one of three that players can select from the enchantment table. This should increase your chances of catching rarer items such as pufferfish or clownfish.
