Bungie today announced the first details of Destiny 2 Lightfallwhich is the latest expansion of the game.
Destiny 2 Lightfall Expansion Release Date
The Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion will be released early next year on February 28, 2023. It will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Speaking of PC, the game will no longer be exclusive to Steam because, for the first time, it will now be available on Epic Games. It will also appear in two Epic Games: Fortnite and Fall Guys as crossover content. Destiny 2 will also get Fortnite crossover content, which will be Fortnite-inspired ornament sets.
Lightfall is the penultimate chapter in Destiny 2’s Light and Darkness saga and will continue to be the epic story that has been told for almost ten years. Players will face off against Calus, the malevolent former emperor of the Cabal who has now returned to the solar system along with the Pyramid fleet as a Disciple of the Witness, the cosmic nemesis revealed in Destiny 2 The Witch Queen. Using the abilities granted by a new Strand subclass, Guardians will now explore a new destination: the gleaming megacity of Neomuna on Neptune. Epic Games and Bungie today announced their partnership. Players who join Destiny 2 on the Epic Games Store before August 30, 2022 at 10am Pacific Time will receive Destiny 2 30the Free Anniversary Event Package.
As for crossover content with Fortnite and Fall Guys, players can customize their characters with new outfits representing iconic Destiny characters Commander Zavala, Ikora Rey, and Exo Stranger, along with new Destiny-themed cosmetics including Back Blings. , Pickaxes and Sparrow Gliders. The cosmetics will appear in the Fortnite Item Shop later today at 5pm PT.
There will be a new Fortnite island inspired by the classic Javelin-4 Crucible map from Destiny 2. It was developed by the PWR creator team using the Fortnite creative toolset. Fall Guys players will be able to head to the Blunderdome in Destiny-themed costumes beginning September 17, 2022. It will include Titan, Hunter, and Warlock-themed outfits, a new Spicy Ramen celebration, and other accessories.
There will be Fortnite-themed ornament sets available in Destiny 2 starting today. This includes a classic Battle Royale outfit skin for each Destiny class:
- Knightly Noire Titan ornament with Black Knight theme
- Drift-Themed Painted Kitsune Sorcerer Ornament
- Oblivion-themed Eternal Vengeance Hunter Ornament
The pillage season begins
Today’s Showcase event also kicked off the new Destiny 2 Season: Season of Plunder. It will follow the Guardians as they hunt down the Kell of Darkness Eramis, who is now searching the galaxy for powerful relics. To combat this threat, the Guardians will need to team up and join new activities and discover secret treasures along the way.

Plunder season More details
Guardians will venture into the sea of stars in Season of Plunder, launching today in Destiny 2. Eramis, the Kell of Darkness, has escaped her icy prison and is now assembling a crew of outlaws to hunt down relics of dark power. . To thwart their plans, the Guardians will recruit their own crews of Outlaws and Losers in all-new activities, power up with the Arc 3.0 subclass revamp, and claim treasure throughout the system.

Repeated King’s Fall Raid
Also revealed during today’s Showcase was the repeat raid, King’s Fall, coming to Destiny 2 this week. The raid, originally seen in Destiny’s expansion The Taken King, takes place in the Dreadnaught as players face off against Oryx himself. The King’s Fall Raid launches on Friday, August 26, 2022, and will be free to all Destiny 2 players.
To celebrate, Bungie will be hosting the World First Race for King’s Fall starting on the day the raid launches, where teams from around the world will compete to be the first team of six Guardians to complete the raid iteration. The competition for World First begins on Friday, August 26 at 10am Pacific Time.
