a big part of Fortnite: The history of Battle Royale is how it connects various parts of pop culture to create something new and exciting. One of the biggest surprises to come out was the reveal of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character, The foundationleader of a faction of intergalactic heroes called The Seven.
First introduced in Chapter 2 — Season 6 Opening Event Cinematic, Zero Crisis, The Foundation came at a time of need for the Fortnite Island. The Imagined Order (IO), their sworn enemy, had left the island’s power source unstable, causing one of their agents to betray everything only to contact the Foundation in hopes of fixing the situation – a quick introduction and effective to the importance of character and energy.
Now, with multiple events and a comic under his belt, here are five facts from The Foundation’s many appearances throughout Fortnite history.
1. He is the rock
When first introduced, The Foundation’s voice was modulated thanks to his advanced armor, like all other members of The Seven. However, this was made even more so in his case, as who was playing the character was supposed to be a surprise at the time: The Rock himself.
Some elements of The Foundation’s design are clear references to many aspects of Dwayne Johnson, such as the intricate paneling on The Foundation’s left shoulder that mimics The Rock’s tattoo design in the same spot. A more obvious parallel is The Foundation’s large size and body structure, generally towering over whatever character is next to them.
This collaboration, first hinted at in with a tweet from The Rock in 2020, it was probably the merger of a potential Icon Series project, where the real person enters the game with a cool look, with the need to give the leader of the Fortnite heroes a memorable face. In any case, the result of this casting was felt throughout the community, as even with speculation that The Rock would play the character running rampant thanks to teaserthe surprise when his face was revealed in Chapter 2 — Season 8 The end The live event wowed the community.
2. His armor is top tier
Resistance to any bullet, blast, and psychic manipulation, plus an independent oxygen system, are just a few of the many amazing things about the advanced Foundation armor. Although in the few seasons where you could fight The Foundation in-game, it did little more than act as decoration, outside of the game, the armor shows a small portion of its toolkit in use.
In addition to being a “contained environment,” meaning it has its own oxygen and protection from anything outside, the suit has a built-in artificial intelligence that can get whatever information the Foundation needs. It’s safe to assume that any other features seen in characters like Iron Man and JARVIS are also present, such as calculations and other useful features.
Other features of his suit include thermal cloaking, which hides his temperature and visibility, and flight, with small jets coming out of his boots. It’s unknown what abilities might be natural to him outside of the armor, as he has yet to be seen without it, but The Foundation’s power is certainly not created from technology alone.
3. He leads the seven
The Foundation’s main goal in the Fortnite story is to lead a group of people responsible for protecting the game’s island, where most of its narrative takes place. The Seven are played by some of the best voice acting talent Hollywood has to offer, such as Joel McHale as The Scientist and Rahul Kohli as The Origin, however only The Rock has brought his own face to a character in the group so far. now.
Mostly acting as an upset father to a bunch of superpowered kids, Foundation helps plot the Seven’s battles while leading them as a piece of brains and brawn. His personality with the group is different each time he appears alongside them, being sometimes wise and sometimes quite tough.
Yet even after facing some of the most terrifying threats in existence, most of which remain a secret to this day, the Foundation remains hopeful that the future can be bright if everyone fights for its causes. . Most of the members of the Seven are superhuman in at least one sense, with the Origin leading a faction of world-destroying monsters called The Ultimate Reality, and the Scientist winning multiple awards on various worlds for his research, but that doesn’t mean that may not feel the weight of their battles. Their leader helps keep spirits strong in the midst of chaos.
4. Fought Batman
In the special one-shot comic Batman/Fortnite: Foundation, the main character’s past and motivations were lightly explored to help move the game’s story forward, explaining some important elements along the way. One of the themes of the comic is the Foundation’s experience and knowledge of technology, demonstrated by the gadgets he uses against Batman, who acknowledges and respects his talents.
As with every crossover of the caped crusader and another hero, they eventually team up to stop the larger threat at hand, but one of the greatest fighters and minds in comics history who regards The Foundation as his equal goes to show. How important is the character? In theory. In reality, with only a small number of proper appearances due to the actor’s busy career, what The Rock’s character lacks in development is only made up for by the weight of the few people he’s interacted with outside of the world of Fortnite, like Batman, and later Iron Man in the Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War comics.
Foundation has been shown to master strategy and combat techniques, using his natural strength to his advantage in his battles, combined with his intelligence, to control any situation and its impact. Since each fight he has against the Imagined Order has risks that affect all the worlds ever known, he must remain vigilant and careful with his every move, which has led to thousands of years of hard survival.
5. He has survived it all
Armed with impenetrable armor, superhuman strength, and the experience of a lifetime, Foundation has battled monsters of all kinds. Fortnite leaves much of its history for the community to imagine, and the Foundation’s past before the present of history is a gigantic period for that.
But not everything is left to the imagination, as some of his most impressive feats can be seen in the game’s live events. Season 6 Chapter 2: Zero Crisis showed him holding the Zero Point (the source of all life) along with his armored hands. The impact on him was so strong that it caused a temporary loss of memory, repaired thanks to the AI in his suit recapitulating everything that happened.
The Foundation’s story is only beginning, with future threats like the leader of the Imagined Order, Geno, finally matching both their power and intelligence. But even if there are no more fights, you can always explore his past to further the game’s story, showing what made him capable of leading the greatest heroes in existence.
Fortnite is free to play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Android.
