The upcoming Call of Duty Next event is set to deliver a full Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal, as well as new Warzone 2 information. Here’s what players are desperate to see from the event.

During Call of Duty Champs, the biggest competitive CoD event of the year, Activision and Infinity Ward brought Call of Duty Next to the attention of the community. This one-of-a-kind event airing on September 15 is set to tease the future of the Call of Duty franchise.

The event will include a full Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal, as well as new details on the Warzone 2 project and a mobile version of Warzone. With a ton of new information expected to surprise the community, here’s what players are hoping to see the most.

CharlieIntel took to Twitter to ask CoD players what they hope to see from the long-awaited Call of Duty Next Stream. While details surrounding Warzone 2 are shrouded in mystery, it’s safe to expect Modern Warfare 2 gameplay footage.

Keep in mind that Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, and with all eyes on Call of Duty Next, it will be a great opportunity to build hype. Some players in the responses had very specific expectations, while others wanted to see more technical aspects of the game.

MW2 and Warzone 2 Gun Mechanism and Gunsmith System

This is a great example of the technical side of Modern Warfare 2, and for the long-awaited association of Warzone 2, which we have yet to fully discover. Weapon mechanics and how they feel when fired set the tone for the game’s tone. Modern Warfare 2’s gameplay will likely be heavily influenced by how intuitive weapons feel in players’ hands.

In addition, the equipment and the gunsmith function are another vital technical aspect. While these aren’t the most striking concerns, they go a long way toward laying the groundwork for a high-quality experience. After all, players love to customize and modify aspects of the game when they’re not in battle.

While we already have some important information about the Modern Warfare 2 Gunsmith, including the ability to modify certain characteristics of attachments, hopefully Call of Duty Next will provide even more information.

Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play

While the gameplay is set to take center stage, it’s not unbelievable that Call of Duty Next can showcase various game modes. Perhaps the stream will mark the official reveal of the rumored DMZ mode.

However, multiplayer fans will be crossing their fingers for something they’ve been waiting years for: “League Play at Launch.”

Call of Duty fans looking for a top-tier competitive mode have been disappointed in recent years. Either they had to wait months after launch to receive a ranked game mode or, in Modern Warfare’s case, it came without skill splits or an ELO system.

Classic Call of Duty Weapons

FaZe Testy responding with an image of the iconic Intervention sniper gives us a specific weapon request. The Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal will surely include gameplay footage. Of course, with in-game footage comes the inevitable reveal of weapons.

Whether classic Call of Duty weapons will make an appearance in Modern Warfare 2 remains to be seen, but players will surely lose their minds if the Intervention makes its way into the game. The Sniper is without a doubt one of the most beloved weapons in Call of Duty history.

That sums up some of the most intriguing hopes and wishes for the upcoming Call of Duty Next event. Don’t forget to tune in to the broadcast on September 15 to find out if any of these wishes come true.
