Unlike its predecessor game, Resident Evil 7, which focused on claustrophobic horror, Residential Evil Village is more of an action adventure with multiple ranges of characters, creatures, and bosses. However, there is a horror aspect to the village settings and character designs. After all, it is Resident Evil.
With plenty of mutated creatures to match the game’s cynical setting, you’ll encounter sinister creatures and psychotic villagers with their strange cults.
We will consider the bosses necessary for story progression. So be careful, as this list contains major spoilers ahead.
Resident Evil Village bosses to play
The game has many variations of bosses ranging from creepy to super powerful. You will encounter all the bosses and defeat them as you progress through the Resident Evil Village story. Below is the list of all the bosses that you will encounter as you progress to the end.
Bela, Daniela and Cassandra (daughters of Dimitrescu)
You will find these three daughters in Castle Dimitrescu, where you have to kill all three of them one by one. They are chimeric mutant parasites from the Cadou research project and were later adopted as Dimitrescu’s daughters.
You will first meet Bela in the lower floors of the castle. She will chase you until you end up in a room. You must immediately break the window by knocking them down. Doing so will make her vulnerable to frost and she will take damage until she freezes.
You can find Daniela at the locked door near Lady Dimitrescu’s bedroom. Just like Bela, you need to expose her to the cold by opening the roof window using the crowbar on one of the posts. With enough shots, she will also turn to ice, and you can blow her up to receive Crystal Torso.
Last on the list is Cassandra. You can find it in the room next to the Pleasure Mask. You will need a homemade bomb to blow up the wall and expose it to the cold. Search around the room and you will find a pipe bomb along with some ammunition. Move the bookcase to reveal the crack in the wall where you can make a hole using a pipe bomb.
Then she will keep chasing you. Shoot her until she turns into a statue and shoot her to get the Crystal Torso.
After completing the puzzle, you will receive the dagger that you will plunge into Lady Dimitrescu’s body, and she will turn into a dragon. She will drag you to the roof of another castle where you will fight the horrible monster that she has become.
There are three phases to fight the giant dragon. The first is on the stairs, where he will chase you down and threaten to kill you. She just keeps shooting the human form of her sticking out of the dragon, and she’ll start flying and doing aerial combat.
In this phase, he will knock you against the wall if you stay in the same position for too long. Shoot him with a rifle when he stays in a fixed place during the flight. After smashing through the castle walls, he will chase you to the top. Break all the vases you see because they will contain ammo for your next fight.
The third phase is close combat with the dragon Dimitrescu. Unleash all shotgun slugs at her leaving no room to attack. He will then drag you to the castle before disappearing into ashes. You will receive Crystal Dimitrescu after defeating her.
Angie and Donna Benevent
Donna Benevent has become a doll named Angie, and she’s here to play hide-and-seek in the dollhouse. The boss is unlike any other fight in that you will have no weapons to fight except a pair of scissors.
Your task is to find an Angie doll that is hidden among all the dolls in the Benevenento house. She will run and hide when you find her and pick her up. This hide-and-seek task ends for the third time when you finally kill Donna hiding inside the Angie doll.
There are ways to find Angie as she hides for the second and third time. You can see the blood stain that she will leave after stabbing her with scissors. You will almost always find it upstairs in the baby’s room. She will be on the floor or in the closet.
The second location is where the hideout started. Go past the dining room and you’ll see Angie on the floor by the window. Once you stab her, she will push you away and fly to the next hiding spot.
The third location is the room at the end of the hall where the elevator is attached. Look for the blood marks on the wall and you will eventually reach where the doll is on the ground.
Stabbing her three times in the brain will result in Donna Benevenento’s death. Killing her will give you the Unborn Key which will be combined with four Winged Keys. Don’t forget to pick up an Angie doll.
The first phase in the Moreau boss fight is to jump from platform to platform to avoid drowning in the pool where he swims. There will be some floating debris and house roofs where you can jump. Moreau will mainly jump between those spaces trying to catch you in the air.
After draining the water from the reservoir, it starts attacking you, starting a proper boss fight. It will chase you in a maze-like town, spewing poison at you. Moreau is slow, but he can pounce on you. He gathers enough resources and ammo while you run away from Moreau.
Dealing enough damage will initiate its second side, where it will rain down acid barriers and thick walls that you can destroy.
Moreau will have picked up speed and will lunge at you from a distance. His body is built like a tank, so hitting anything besides his inner human body deals little damage. You can blow up the explosive barrel to reveal his real body, place mine, or fire rockets at him to make him vulnerable to bullets.
It will fight against the ground and explode into pieces after expanding from its belly. And now you have successfully defeated Moreau.
Urias is derived from the Romanian word, which means giant. As his name suggests, he is a great giant who carries an oversized hammer to crush you. He will jump right at you, chasing you in a packed arena.
Urias is built like a tank and can hit hard but is slow on speed. You can stagger him by shooting when he is about to hit you with his hammer. You can also use the pillars to your advantage to dodge his hammer attack.
It will also summon some lycans by jumping onto the center platform of the arena. This will make the battle a bit more difficult, but you can blow these guys up with grenades or landmines.
Use the pillar to surround or run away from the giant; the trick is to not get cornered by him and get hit by his hammer.
Once the beast has fallen, you will receive a Crystal Hammer worth 35,000 Lei.
He is the head of Propeller who is one of Heisenberg’s experimental subjects combined with mechanical components. Instead of a head and arms, he has a giant machine with a propeller at the front.
Sturm will charge you with his propeller head and break the loose wall between you. There are a lot of weak walls that can make the fight claustrophobic, but once he starts breaking them down, the room will open up to a larger arena. He’ll be stunned for a second if he hits one end of the room, giving you time to shoot him in the back; that is also his weak point.
After many runs, smashes, and shots, he will turn into a hot fire machine. He will then have additional attacks like breathing fire and running around the fire filled room. Ammo will be available at the edge of the room if you run out of ammo. You can also use mine to run straight into the mine.
Keep shooting at its weak point and it will eventually collapse. You will then receive a complex mechanical heart from its broken pieces.
Thanks to Heisenberg’s tank, it’s not that hard to kill the boss. In the first half, you will control the tank equipped with machine guns, a grenade launcher and a freaking chainsaw. After going up the elevator, you will reach an open arena where the battle against Karl Heisenberg will begin.
It will use its magnetic power to build a machine that will knock you down and defend itself with scrap metal. The tank is more agile and blocks its spinning blade attack with your chainsaw. You can almost move to the side when he lunges forward to attack you.
There are visual cues around his mechanical body, which is considered a weak point. Shoot the glowing red area around his arms to disable his attacks. After destroying both arms, he will use his powers to take down your tank, and now you have to take him down with your weapons.
Their movements are now slow and they take a long time to get close and attack you. Keep your distance and shoot his long head to stagger him. You must survive this phase and keep shooting at him as you get the chance. It will drop soon and you will receive Crystal Heisenberg worth seventy thousand lei.
You are in a hole with less maneuverability and a huge beast to defeat. The boss has a large spiked mace which seems like the most dangerous weapon, but if you stay away from his swing attacks and block his air attacks, it’s pretty easy.
Since the area has less room to dodge his attacks, you can always block his attacks if you can’t get away. The boss has a weak spot on his back; since it’s a small spot, you can easily grab him from behind and shoot bullets at the weak area of him.
Once the boss has fallen, you can pick up his crystal mace worth sixty thousand lei.
She is the final boss and the end of the Resident Evil Village story. She has all the attributes that she should have in a final boss. She is defiant, has various attacks that change as she goes from one phase to another, and keeps talking like any other boss in the game.
It is shaped like a spider and also has the ability to fly and attack you from the air. She will transform from a spider to a flying beast once she lands enough hits. She will summon a giant pillar and quickly shoot a ball of fire in your direction. You can dodge this by staying in the corner of one of those pillars.
Once you knock it down, it will cover the area with darkness, allowing for less visibility. She will do a quick attack like above, but you won’t see them coming due to the darkness.
Its final phase causes it to transform into all of the previous beasts and will immobilize you with its dark roots. He will then drop a large fireball that cannot be dodged. All you can do is shoot her down and she’ll be out in no time.
The final fight uses some cutscenes to incorporate the story during the fight. The exciting fight finally ends and the scene continues as you hold the baby in your arms.
