The week 1 missions for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 are live and they give you many new ways to earn XP. This week’s quests are a little deeper than you might be used to, requiring you to find hidden items, some of which are tied to new seasonal mechanics.
Here we will go over all the new missions, with guides to complete them all in Fortnite.
- Collect reality seeds (3)
- Damage opponents with a DMR (200)
- Dance on different crashed IO aircraft (3)
- Gain shields by bouncing off Slurp Bouncer mushrooms (10)
- Modify a whiplash with off-road tires and a cow catcher, then destroy structures (50)
- Search chests in Condo Canyon or Tilted Towers (5)
- Visit Ground Zero in a Speedboat (1)
Collect reality seeds (3)
Like the Week Zero quest to plant Reality Saplings, this one requires you to collect Reality Seeds. You will find them in Reality Falls inside pink light bulbs. There is one on the large tree root that sits above the body of water in this area. Once you destroy the pink bulb, the Reality Seeds will burst and scatter around you. Collect three to complete this challenge.
Damage opponents with a DMR (200)
The DMR is a new weapon added to Fortnite in Season 3. This semi-automatic sniper rifle deals a lot of damage, but it takes a bit of getting used to, especially if you want to get the hang of it. For this mission, you need to deal 200 damage with a DMR, so make sure to loot as much as possible until you find one, and then prioritize shooting your opponents with the weapon. Fortunately, this challenge is cumulative, so you don’t need to deal all 200 damage in one match.
Dance on different crashed IO aircraft (3)
There are five total IO aircraft crashed around the map, and to complete this challenge, you need to visit three of them and use an emote while there. Use the map above for reference (thanks, Fortnite.gg). This one is also cumulative, meaning you don’t have to visit all three crashed IO aircraft in the same match.
Gain shields by bouncing off Slurp Bouncer mushrooms (10)
Inside the Greasy Grove area are Slurp Bouncer Mushrooms, which can be jumped on to gain shields. They are found in other places on the western side of the island, but Greasy Grove has plenty of them. For this challenge, you need to bounce off 10 Slurp Bouncer Mushrooms, which can be done in separate matches.
Modify a whiplash with off-road tires and a cow catcher, then destroy structures (50)
This challenge is a bit of a pain in the ass as you need to collect three specific items before you can start destroying structures. First, you need to get your hands on a Whiplash, which is Fortnite’s version of a sports car. You can find them at the locations on the map below.
Once you get your hands on the vehicle, you’ll need to find a Cow Catcher, which is usually found in red tool boxes around the map. There is sometimes one that spawns in the southeastern corner of Coney Crossroads, just south of where you can find a Whiplash vehicle. Open the toolbox, equip the Cow Catcher, and then throw it on the vehicle to hold it. If you can’t find one there, look for red tool boxes in nearby garages or gas stations.
From there, head to the gas station south of Coney Crossroads, where you’ll find a garage with a guaranteed off-road tire spawn.
Throw it into the vehicle and then drive towards 50 different structures to complete this challenge. It’s cumulative, but given how annoying it is to complete, it’s best to try and finish it in one match.
Search chests in Condo Canyon or Tilted Towers (5)
This is an easy one. Simply land in Condo Canyon or Titled Towers and loot as much as you can. help if you have display sound effects power up Once you have opened five chests in any area, you will complete this quest.
Visit Ground Zero in a Speedboat (1)
For the final mission, you will need to drive a speedboat to the Zero Point location. Start on the north side of Tilted Towers where you will find a speedboat and then drive it to the zero point (indicated by the circle above) to complete this mission.
