Modern Warfare 2 should have multiple betas

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 removed the new reveal style set by Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Y Call of Duty: Vanguard. Not only was there a simple trailer release instead of a special event within war zone, but the game was introduced roughly five months before release. This is far from cold war black ops Y Vanguardwhich were released to the public just a few months before its release.

While the previous strategy had benefits, allowing fans to enter a beta within days of the official reveal and helping to keep the hype leading up to launch, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 approach also has its advantages. Not only can Infinity Ward take a slow approach to its reveals, releasing new images every month that highlight different aspects of the game, but it could hold multiple beta builds if it wanted to. This would be ideal as it could allow all modes and maps to be fully polished before release.

What Multiple Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Betas Could Accomplish

While only a beta version for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is confirmed, it would be nice to see more released later. Obviously, the main beta’s focus should be on 6v6 multiplayer, but even traditional online play could benefit from multiple betas. For example, the first beta might focus entirely on modes like Domination and Hardpoint, while the next beta might focus on Demolition and Search and Destroy. In this way, fans could try out all of the core game modes and provide feedback on everything from the rules to the number of points earned for playing the objective.

This would allow testing in more than Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2Maps too. Typically, Obligations beta versions only allow the player to try out four or more maps, a small portion of the game’s total map count. With multiple beta versions, Infinity Ward can take feedback on each original map before release, saving remasters as day one surprises. In this way, changes like cold war black opsMiami rework can happen before launch if needed, leading to a stronger set of maps from day one.

Outside of basic 6v6 multiplayer maps and balance, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 It is expected to have some unique modes. Rumored modes include a Tarkov-as an experience and an experience inspired by rainbow six siege. As with the introduction of Gunfight in modern warfare 2019Trying out an entirely new game mode and game type through a beta makes sense. As such, it would be ideal to have separate betas for these new modes.

A case could also be made for each beta to feature a different part of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2The weapon lineup of . Players could see two assault rifles in one beta and two more in the next, trying out the entire arsenal before launch. With Infinity Ward able to get feedback on each weapon through this method, the developer would be able to ensure that each weapon is balanced at launch, making it a rare Obligations release where one or two guns are not fully mastered.

Even a beta for the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is workable, as there are several months ahead that Activision could fill with exciting testing periods for the latest installment in their beloved series. While there was only time to do a brief alpha and beta with the previous two Obligations pitches, that’s not the case with modern warfare 2. Infinity Ward has plenty of time to kill until launch day, so it would be wise to get community feedback on as many aspects of the game as possible. Multiple betas are the best way to go, or at least one extensive beta that is constantly expanding over the summer. Hopefully this is the approach taken with modern warfare 2.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 launches October 28 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
