10 retro arcade characters that should be added to Fortnite

One of the most popular ongoing video games in the world, Fortnite is known for adding new characters frequently. While these characters are purely cosmetic, they sometimes come with items or other things related to them that are temporarily or permanently added to the game to celebrate their inclusion.

Usually these added characters are from popular movies, TV shows, or video games, but sometimes more unexpected characters are added, like Pac-Man. Pac-Man is one of the most popular retro arcade mascots of all time, so why not add more in a similar vein and give them a new lease on life?

10 Waiter – Tapper

It might be weird that a bartender is playable in Fortnite, but maybe he can serve root beer like he does in Root Beer Tapper and ice cream. The bartender’s pickup tool could be a glass mug, while a limited-time item that any player could pick up could be a special Root Beer Float gun that fires a stream of soda and ice cream.

There’s not much else to add along with Tapper, as the game never had any official sequels, but it’s still an important part of arcade history, much like Pac-Man, even if it’s not as well known.

9 Ax Battler – Golden Ax

Golden Ax is a classic beat’em up series with a Sword & Sorcery theme. Although the original trio of the series is Ax Battler, Gilius Thunderhead, and Tyris, Ax Battler is usually the most prominent character in multiple covers, and understandably so as he’s usually shown wielding an ax of his own, though Gilius wields one as well.

The titular item itself could even be added as a harvesting tool, but why stop there? Since animals such as boars and wolves can now be ridden, mounts from the series such as dragons and chicken feet could be added alongside the Ax Battler.

8 Taizo Hori – Dig Excavation

Taizo Hori is the main character of the Dig Dug series and is also the father of Mr. Driller. Taizo might have a drilling harvesting tool due to his relationship with Mr. Driller, but the only weapon he might add is his inflator, which he uses to inflate characters in his first game.

Since Fortnite already has some balloon inflating mechanics, perhaps this weapon could temporarily inflate other characters in a fun way. However, if it has the potential to take out other players, it would have to be a Legendary or Mythic item. They could even choose between using their more cartoonish design or their more humanoid design from Namco X Capcom.

7 G – The house of the dead

The House Of The Dead has had a handful of playable characters throughout the series, but the playable character that has reappeared the most frequently is Agent G. While Agent G would not have a unique harvesting tool due to House Of The Dead series consisting mostly of light gun arcade games, perhaps the various creatures from the series could be added to the map for a special Halloween event alongside it.

There’s nothing more quirky about G himself that would fit in with a Fortnite look, but since the playable characters are purely cosmetic, that wouldn’t matter much.

6 Arthur – Ghouls and Ghosts

This fearless knight has been fighting monsters since 1985 and has appeared in several crossover titles before. Since Capcom already has several Street Fighter characters in the game, maybe they could have a special Halloween Ghouls & Ghost event to add Arthur as well.

Arthur’s unique gathering tool would be his spear, but his knight armor would be something more interesting to add to the game. Arthur’s knight armor could function as an additional shield for players, and after being destroyed, his characters could be shown wearing his famous underpants over the clothes they already have, of course.

5 frog – frog

The famous amphibious retro arcade game Frogger, which first hit the arcades in 1981, is mostly known for crossing paths and dodging cars, but at first it had a series of 3D platformers and a more humanoid redesign.

As well as adding Frogger-inspired ponds and mini-game sections, since the cars and streets are already in the game, maybe Frogger’s green slime that he spits could be a special item, and there could be a redesigned version of the harpoon that is It looks like Frogger’s. tongue, but retains the same or at least similar function as the original harpoon.

4 Billy and Jimmy – Double Dragon

Characters from Street Fighter and Naruto are already in Fortnite, as well as Cobra Kai outfits, so martial artists Billy and Jimmy Lee from the Double Dragon fighting series would feel right at home. Billy and Jimmy are usually just palette swaps of the same character, so their differences will largely depend on which version is used.

Since the original game had a small variety of weapons that players could pick up and use, any one of them could be a gathering tool. Perhaps there could even be a martial arts tournament-inspired event to introduce the twin brothers to the world of Fortnite.

3 George – Rampage

Rampage is a series that doesn’t get as much love and attention as it should. While it wasn’t the first game to have playable city-destroying monsters, it was one of the most notable Godzilla-inspired, but completely unrelated.

King Kong-inspired character George is probably the most recognizable of the original Rampage monster trio, with an alternate version landing the starring role in the 2018 live-action film adaptation alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. However, he would probably have to shrink down to the size of his original human form, but his fist could be his harvesting tool.

two Peter Pepper – Burger Time

Peter Pepper from the BurgerTime series deserves more attention than he gets. Peter’s spatula would be his harvesting tool, while a pepper gun would be a new weapon that anyone could use. Perhaps the pepper gun could even be used to temporarily turn opposing players into the game’s various food enemies, since that’s what is used to defeat them.

It’s unclear if they would use his original appearance, his cameo appearance in Disney’s animated film Wreck-It Ralph, or his appearance at the more recent BurgerTime Party. Regardless of which version they choose, however, it could still add some interesting new mechanics.

1 Bub n’ Bob – Bubble Bobble

These two lovable dragons have been a playable character pair since the first Bubble Bobble game hit arcades in 1986 and they also started the Puzzle Bobble or Bust-A-Move spin-off series. They may be more difficult to add due to their non-humanoid appearance, but could perhaps be seen as more humanoid characters within the mascot suits.

Like Pac-Man, sprite versions of Bub, Bob, and their various enemies could be added as props in addition to having them as playable characters. Perhaps a bubble mechanic inspired by their respective series could also be added to the game for a limited time.
