Where to find the heart of the sea in Minecraft

The Heart of the Sea is a rare treasure that can only be found as Buried Treasure. This means that players must first find a shipwreck or ruin in the ocean and then obtain a buried treasure map that will lead them to a location where the buried treasure is hidden. A red X on a buried treasure map indicates where players need to go to find buried treasure, and thus a Heart of the Sea.

Players struggling to find both a shipwreck and ocean ruins must attempt to feed raw cod or raw salmon to a dolphin, then be led to the nearest shipwreck, ocean ruins, or sometimes even directly to buried treasure. . Dolphins are friendly creatures that track chests rather than structures, meaning they will simply lead players to the nearest treasure chest they find. If players break the chest they were led to, the dolphin will take them to another one, making this a very efficient way to track the heart of the sea when collecting buried treasure maps or being led directly to buried treasure.

Buried treasure is usually found near beaches, but can also occasionally be found in other locations below the ocean floor. Finding buried treasure usually requires a bit of digging while breathing underwater, so players should make sure to watch their bubbles carefully or wear an underwater respirator so they don’t accidentally drown while searching for treasure.

How to use the heart of the sea in Minecraft

There is only one use for the heart of the sea and that is to turn it into a conduit. A conduit is an item that buffs players in a similar style to beacons. Players will need to collect a Sea Heart and eight Nautilus Shells to then create a Conduit on the workbench.

To craft a Conduit, players must start by placing the Heart of the Sea in the center of the crafting table. The eight nautilus shell should be placed in a circle around it and the option to create a conduit will appear. The resulting conduit is an item that has the heart of the sea floating in a box enclosed by shells and grants benefits to those who pay, while also acting as a powerful source of light.

Conduits are powerful items that can be placed in a frame of the player’s choosing underwater to provide buffs and eliminate hostile underwater mobs. The benefit provided by conduits is called “Conduit Power” and it combines three different Minecraft effects together to grant players water breathing, night vision (while underwater), and haste (while underwater).

To make a conduit come to life, players must also build a frame for them and place them in the water. Conduits only work when placed in a three by three by three volume of water and within a frame made up of multiple prismarine-like blocks. This includes blocks found in ruins and ocean monuments, such as sea lanterns, prismarines, dark prismarines, or prismarine bricks. The frame must also have at least 16 blocks, which will create a range of 32 blocks for the conduit to cover.

When a hostile underwater mob, such as drowners or guardians, is within eight block range of a conduit, the mob will slowly be attacked by the conduit and will eventually die as long as they remain within range. It usually takes a few hits from the duct before mobs die, depending on how healthy they are.
