Fortnite: How to Fix Friend Request Crash

There is a bug in the friend request in Fortnite that involves repeatedly receiving the acceptance notification with random names, but players can fix it.

There is an easy solution to fix the friend request failure at Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 that all players have access to. Many cool features have been brought to Fortnite in the final season like Darth Vader’s skin, new transportation, map locations, and more. Unfortunately, the new season also brought a friend request glitch that can be incredibly annoying, albeit harmless. However, the fault can be fixed in a few steps.

Before dropping into the best new landing spots on Fortnite this season with new friends, players should be aware that the request failure only occurs within the main menu screen. Also, the friend request glitch only affects the sender and starts after the second player has accepted it. Subsequently, the sender will receive multiple friend request acceptance notifications that include the names of players who were never invited. In addition to the messages that repeatedly appear on the screen, the accompanying sound notification will also continue to play. Neither the message nor the sound will stop until players turn it off themselves.

Thankfully, the issue isn’t anything to do with the player’s ending, rather it’s a glitch that affects gameplay in general. Until Epic Games releases a new fix for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3, players will need to use an in-game workaround for notifications and sound to stop. Again, the glitch is harmless and doesn’t permanently affect anything in the game, rather it’s an annoying feature that some may want to disable while waiting in the main menu for their friend to join them.
